The word stress is defined as the body’s response to physical, mental, or emotional pressure. Stress causes chemical changes in the body that can raise blood pressure, heart rate, and blood sugar levels. It may also lead to feelings of frustration, anxiety, anger, or depression.
As women begin to go through the menopause the adrenal glands are designed to pick-up the slack for the ovaries. The adrenals are more commonly known as the fight or flight hormone, and this is why menopausal women can often feel anxious much of the time before they have even done anything!
You may be experiencing poor concentration and having short-term memory problems, and this is made worse by problems sleeping (insomnia) and so increased tiredness. I know this was the case with me. So in addition to the physical and mental symptoms women are experiencing there are often many changes going on at this time e.g. children leaving home, relationships changing, demanding careers, and possibly looking after elderly relatives to name just a few.
If you can identify with this, then let me help you to become calmer, more relaxed, and feeling more like yourself.
I work with you over the course of 3 sessions (an initial 90 minute session and then two 60 minute one-to-one private sessions) to identify some of the root causes of your stress. I use a combination of techniques to help you, and then provide some simple practical techniques which I have learnt, that you can take away and use every day.
Our sessions can be recorded, allowing you to revisit the learnings at any time.
Once you have paid you will be contacted to arrange a convenient date/time for your consultation.
